Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw was hit in the face with the puck during the first period of Game 6 of the 2013 Stanley Cup Final.
The 21-year-old dropped immediately to the ice after a pass off the stick of Bruins winger Shawn Thornton caught him the side of the face. Shaw lay motionless on the ice initially as the puck dropped back to Thornton, who attempted to continue toward the net. Officials halted play with Shaw down, eliciting boos from the crowd at TD Garden.
