NOAA Ship Launch Fail: Newly Christened 'Reuben Lasker' Sends Debris Flying In Viral Clip (VIDEO)

WATCH: Terrifying Ship Launch Fail

Video of a bungled 2012 ship launch has taken the Internet by storm.

The footage -- which has been available on YouTube as early as January, but went viral in recent days -- shows the christening of an National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration vessel called the "Reuben Lasker," in Marinette, Wisc. As the ship slid into the water, it sent a dangerous burst of water and debris in the direction of the camera.

Jalopnik points out that a different video of the same event, posted online shortly after the launch in June 2012, appears to show spectators getting sprayed as the ship lurched into Lake Michigan.

The cameraman walked away with only "bumps and bruises," according to the "Today" show, but one other person reportedly suffered a broken leg.
