'Swamp People': Marsh Marinade Bait Lures A Greedy Gator (VIDEO)

Marsh Marinade Bait Lures A Greedy Gator On 'Swamp People'

The "Swamp People" almost bit off more than they could chew this week, after concocting a new type of bait called "Marsh Marinade."

The recipe, containing a combination of chicken, tuna and 11 herbs and spices, gave them unprecedented results, when an 8 ft., 350lb. gator swam straight for the boat.

Usually, the gator hunters have to hang their bait on poles, then come back later to (hopefully) find the gators caught. A gator heading straight for them -- before the bait was even in the water -- was something the guys said they’d never seen before.

In the end, though, T-Roy and partner Bigfoot lost the gator when it spun off the hook, but the bait was certainly doing something right.

"Swamp People" airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on History.
