Grizzly Bear Eats GoPro Camera In Alaska; VIDEO Uploaded To YouTube By Brad Josephs

WATCH: What It's Like To Be Eaten By A Grizzly Bear

Let's say you're a fish swimming blissfully through the pristine waters of an Alaskan river. Suddenly, you're snatched up by a massive grizzly bear, who drags you ashore for lunch. The last thing you'd likely see would be a cavernous set of jaws -- or perhaps a massive paw, claws extended.

Curious about what that might look like? Here's a YouTube video titled "A grizzly ate my GoPro!!!" that shows a hungry grizzly bear chowing down on a plastic-encased video camera, all seen from the camera's perspective.

The video was uploaded by Brad Josephs, a bear specialist with Natural Habitat Adventures in Alaska.

According to Josephs' blog, he'd strapped the camera to a rock with a rubber band.

"When using a GoPro to capture unusually close footage of grizzly bears for the Great Bear Stakeout for BBC, I had a young bear actually chew on the camera," he writes in the video description. "Amazingly there was no damage to the camera!"

He makes clear to note the bear only "gently mouthed" the camera, instead of actually chewing on it.

Despite this video evidence to the contrary, most grizzly bears survive on a diet of nuts, berries, fruits, leaves and roots, reports National Geographic. The species is considered threatened, with an estimated population of close to 1,000 bears in the continental U.S.
