Moms have a special way of teaching us lessons and making them stick.
Agapi Stassinopoulos can vouch for that. The HuffPost blogger has written an entire book that encapsulates the teachings that her late mother instilled within her. In "Unbinding the Heart," Stassinopoulos shares 32 stories that inspire love -- many of which were influenced by her mom. "Her love -- it wasn't just for her daughters -- it was like an unconditional love for people," she tells HuffPost Live host Ahmed Shihab-Eldin in the clip above.
One of the most valuable things Stassinopoulos says she learned from her mother was to be present. "Darling, don't miss the moment," was a mantra of hers. Her mom was "ruthless" about slowing down, unitasking and making time for people. "The moment is where life happens," Stassinopoulos explains.
