Alyson Hannigan is lucky enough to be associated with two huge TV shows: "How I Met Your Mother" and "Buffy The Vampire Slayer." Between her appearances on "Late Show" and "Watch What Happen: Live" Wednesday night, Hannigan managed to talk about both of them. And during her "Late Show" appearance, she dropped a pretty huge hint about the long-awaited "mother" reveal on "How I Met Your Mother."
"I had always thought that the last show of the whole series was going to be the reveal of the mother," she said. "And, without CBS coming and killing me, I just want to say that I’m glad I didn’t bet on that."
She went on to say that fans will have to tune in to the season finale on Monday to find out what she's talking about.
Over on "WWHL," Hannigan opened up about her time on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," where it quickly became apparent which star was unhappiest about being on the show as it went along. "Who was annoyed to be on ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ by the end of the show’s run?" Cohen asked her.
"Sarah [Michelle Gellar]," Hannigan said. "Well, she had a big career going." Does that hurt any chances of a "Buffy" reunion?
Hannigan said she'd be on board a reunion effort, so long as creator Joss Whedon is on board, but would Gellar come back? Perhaps her feelings about the role have changed in the intervening years.
Tune in to the season finale of "How I Met Your Mother" this Monday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. "Late Show with David Letterman" also airs on CBS, weeknight at 11:35 p.m. ET. Catch "Watch What Happens: Live" every Sunday through Thursday at 11 p.m. ET on Bravo.
