Paul Pierce, Carmelo Anthony Talk Boston Marathon Tragedy Before Knicks-Celtics Playoff Game (VIDEO)

Carmelo, Pierce Honor Boston

For perhaps the first (and last time) ever, Knicks fans cheered for Paul Pierce.

Before the Celtics and Knicks tipped off Game 1 of their first-round playoff series at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, Pierce and Carmelo Anthony addressed the crowd.

"On behalf of the New York Knicks organization, we just want to let Boston know that we send our prayers to them," Anthony said.

Wearing a shirt that read "Boston Stands As One," Pierce thanked New York City, along with the rest of the country for showing support after the tragic events at the Boston Marathon.

"Boston will rise and run again," said Pierce. And New York cheered.
