Patty Campbell, Krystle Campbell's Mother, Delivers Emotional Statement

'THIS DOESN'T MAKE SENSE': Victim's Mother Delivers Heartbreaking Statement

Patty Campbell, the mother of Krystle Campbell, a 29-year-old woman who was killed in Monday's Boston Marathon explosions, gave an emotional statement to the press outside her home in Medford, Massachusetts.

"We are heartbroken at the death of our daughter, Krystle Marie," she said on Tuesday. "She was a wonderful person, and everybody that knew her loved her... she had a heart of gold. She was always smiling, friendly. You couldn't ask for a better daughter. I can't believe this is happening. She was such a hard worker in everything she did. This doesn't make any sense."

Campbell continued through tears, her voice breaking: "She was the best."

Krystle Campbell's father, William Campbell, had confirmed her death earlier Tuesday.

"My daughter was the most lovable girl, he told Yahoo News. "She helped everybody and I'm just so shocked right now. We're just devastated."

The 29-year-old restaurant manager had been apparently been waiting by the finish line to see her friend's boyfriend finish the race.

Over 170 people were injured in Monday's attacks, which killed Campbell and at least two others. An 8-year-old boy, Martin Richard, was also killed in the blasts. Multiple people also lost limbs.
