Video Game Proposal: Man Pops The Question With Custom-Made Computer Game (PHOTOS)

LOOK: Get Ready To Geek Out...

When one gamer wants to marry another gamer, there's only one way to pop the question: make her play for the ring!

In a post on Reddit Monday, Alex Marchak explained how he designed a computer game that, as his girlfriend, Michele Wunder, played over the course of four hours, revealed the locations of four hidden keys placed around her home. The keys opened a real wooden chest that contained a note telling Wunder to turn around, where she found Marchak waiting on bended knee. He proposed, and she said "yes!" Check out photos of the wooden chest and screenshots of the game in the slideshow below:

Marchak wrote that Wunder is a huge video game fan -- she especially loves games from the 1990s like Donkey Kong. He used the software program RPG Maker VX Ace to build the game, which he filled with inside jokes and video game references.

"Playing video games is something we both enjoy and I felt like a proposal in that fashion was perfectly acceptable for the tech-driven generation that we are a part of. I wouldn't have done it any other way," Marchak told HuffPost Weddings.

Believe it or not, Marchak and Wunder aren't the first to get engaged with a video game proposal -- one gamer proposed to his girlfriend in 2010 using the "Super Mario" game by spelling out the words, "Lisa will you marry me?" in gold coins.
