With young celebs like Justin Bieber and Lindsay Lohan it seems that there is little hope for young ones in Hollywood. But Selena Gomez seems to be moving along just fine. With the recent release of her film “Spring Breakers,” the once Disney channel star seems unstoppable at the moment.
Selena Gomez is on the right track
After her break-up with Justin Bieber, Selena has bounced back more powerful than ever, coming out with her a new single “Come and Get it” along with signing to star in a new film called “Rudderless.” The film is about a father dealing with the death of his son. When he comes across some of his son’s original music, he forms a band hoping to keep the father-son connection alive and find peace within loss. The film will allow Selena to work along side Billy Crudup, Anton Yelchin, Laurence Fishburne, William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman.
The split from Bieber happened mid-way through the creation of her new album and it seems that it served as a source of inspiration:
“[The end] happened when half of the album was recorded. And finally, it is not so bad, I was in a situation very interesting, because it let me launch a new kind of creativity that I had never known before,” Gomez said.
‘Come and Get It’
“Come and Get it” is said to be released April 8 and only a short video teaser has been released (check it out below). Although we don’t hear the 20-year-old’s voice in the 11-second clip, there is still some sound of a unique beat and chant, leaving her fans with the curiosity of perhaps a new sound in her upcoming album. Her fans seem to be eager about the release of the new single, check out some of these tweets:
