'Cougar Town' Season 5: TBS Renews Courteney Cox Comedy For 13 Episodes

'Cougar Town' Renewed!

TBS has renewed "Cougar Town" for Season 5, the network announced Monday.

"Cougar Town has been everything we hoped it would be: a smart, big-hearted, laugh-out-loud comedy that shines a bright light on the TBS brand," said TBS president Michael Wright in a statement. "This season, the brilliant cast and immensely creative production team on Cougar Town have crafted their best episodes yet, and we couldn't be happier inviting them back for more."

13 episodes have been ordered for the fifth season, which is expected to premiere in 2014.

TBS rescued the cult comedy from cancellation at ABC in 2012, and the cast and producers have seemed perfectly content with their new home. "I don't know if you guys have seen them [but] there are commercials for the show now," creator Bill Lawrence joked in January at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour.

"We know that this show is funny, we like what we’re doing, and now somebody wants to embrace it and get the word out. It was refreshing," star Busy Philipps agreed.

"Cougar Town" airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on TBS, with the season finale scheduled for April 9.
