We arrived at the office barefaced this morning, ready to go into makeup for a segment on HuffPost Live. It was so nice to save an extra five minutes in the mad dash that is weekday mornings, and our colleagues even noted that "they couldn't tell the difference."
We totally understand why celebrities go without makeup. The truth of the matter is that if we aren't headed to the office or out on the town, we don't bother with makeup. So why should they?
The difference is that we are used to seeing celebrities with their "game face" on (i.e. heavily made up for the cameras), so when we see them barefaced, they look drastically different. And even though we can tell the difference (hey, that pancake makeup on TV is pretty obvious), these ladies look just as stunning sans makeup. Jennifer Lopez hit the grocery store with her kids and no makeup and still caused quite a stir. Christina Aguilera hit the red carpet for "The Voice" in a toned-down look that dropped jaws, inspiring us to put down the mascara.
