Miss Israel, Obama Having Dinner In Jerusalem (VIDEO)

Miss Israel Invited To Dine With President Obama

Being a beauty queen comes with some major perks -- namely, getting to meet President Obama.

Miss Israel, Ethiopian-born Yityish (Titi) Aynaw, has been invited to dine with the president and 120 other guests when Obama visits Israel next week. Yedioth Ahronoth reports that the president's staff sought out 22-year-old Aynaw, wanting her to join the exclusive event in order to share her unique story.

Aynaw hails from Ethiopia, having immigrated to Israel in her teens. When she won the Miss Israel 2013 pageant just last week, she became the first black Israeli to ever take the title.

"Ten years ago," she told Yedioth Ahronoth, "I was walking around barefoot in Ethiopia and I never imagined that one day I would be in the Land of Israel, meeting the Israeli president and the president of the United States. I could never have imagined such a powerful and exciting situation."

The dinner will include several high-ranking Israeli government officials, including Knesset speaker Rueven Rivlin and President Shimon Peres. But talking to the Jerusalem Post, Aynaw said she's got an idea as to why she was invited: She is “the first black Miss Israel to be chosen and [Obama] is the first black American president. These go together."
