LOOK: Best Friend's Letter To ICU Patient Will Make You Laugh And Cry

Sometimes, all you need is a little short-term memory loss to remember just how awesome your best friend is.

On Wednesday, Redditor JoDiegoJo, a wife and mother of four, shared the letter she received from her best friend while in the ICU in 2011. She suffered short-term memory loss as a result of a medical mistake -- leading her to repeatedly ask the same questions. Her friend created something of an FAQ to help her out every time she got confused.

"What's wrong with me?" the letter asks. "You have an infection. Your biggest symptom right now is short-term memory loss and confusion. You're able to hold a conversation, but you go through the same series of questions again and again."

Sadly, Jo, who still has leftover memory and hearing loss, continues to feel the effects of her hospitalization to this day.

"I know there have been many points of frustration for my family, especially my best friend and husband who have been here for every minute of it," Jo wrote in the comment section of the Reddit thread. "There's a lot of time I cannot remember, but what patches of memory I do have from early on are of feeling a confusion I would have never thought possible."

"What your friend did for you was incredible. We can only hope our friend would do this for us," wrote one commenter.
