Happy Birthday, Emilio!

Emilio Estefan turns the big 6-0 today and to wish him a happy birthday we've made him our 'Latino Icon Of The Week'.

Estefan was born in 1953 in Cuba and moved to the U.S. when he was a teenager. He began playing the accordion and formed the band 'Miami Latin Boys' which would later turn into 'Miami Sound Machine' once future wife Gloria, joined.

Since then Estefan has won numerous awards including 14 Grammys, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and more recently a "Sand in My Shoes" award from the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.

Today Estefan is the head of Estefan Enterprises, a production company. As a producer he has helped out many stars like Ricky Martin and Jennifer Lopez. Emilio and Gloria also have a broadway show based on their lives in the works.
