Mount Etna Eruption Caught On Tape (VIDEO)

WATCH: Spectacular Footage Of Mount Etna Erupting

Dramatic footage from Sicily, where Europe's only active volcano, Mount Etna, erupted this week. The eruption sent massive pillars of smoke and ashes into the air.

Sky News reports that the volcano erupts regularly and rarely causes damage. The most current series of outbursts started on Feb. 19.

Mount Etna's current eruption started with a stunning dawn lava fountain on Feb. 19, caught on video, followed in quick succession by three more paroxysms over the next two days. Then, on Feb. 23, towering lava fountains more than 2,600 feet tall (800 meters) shot out of Bocca Nuova crater overnight.

No one was evacuated, according to ITN.
