Ben Affleck Thanks Jennifer Garner For 'Working' On Their Marriage

Ben Affleck has captivated audiences over the course of this award season, sweeping the competition and coming out on top at every show. But let's not forget about his wife Jennifer Garner, who was by his side through it all, cheering him on from the sidelines.

The couple made their final stop at the Oscars last night, where Affleck took home the golden statue for Best Picture for his film "Argo." And as he accepted the Oscar, the director and producer acknowledged the fact that a good marriage takes effort -- and that after eight years, three kids and a couple of box office bombs, Garner has stuck with him.

Straying from his usual, "I love you so much, you're the reason I'm up here," speech, Affleck thanked Garner by telling her that their marriage is "the best kind of work" -- and she cried despite it all.

As did he.

Affleck's voice cracked while he gazed at a teary-eyed Garner from the stage, saying, "I want to thank my wife ... for working on our marriage for 10 Christmases. It is work, but it's the best kind of work. And there's no one I'd rather work with."

The Oscar-winning star got choked up, but continued to thank all those who helped him with the project, as well as his three kids with Garner -- Violet, 7, Seraphina, 4, and Sam, 1.

"I was here 15 years ago or something, and had no idea what I was doing. I stood out here in front of you all, really just a kid and I went out and I never thought I'd be back here. And I am. Because of so many of you that are here tonight. Because of the Academy. Because of so many wonderful people who extended themselves to me when they had nothing to benefit from it," Affleck said. "It doesn't matter how you get knocked down in life, because that's going to happen. All that matters is that you got to get up. Violet, Sera and Sam, I love you. This is for you."
