Jennifer Lawrence's First Oscar Appearance

In 2011, Jennifer Lawrence was nominated for Best Actress at the age of 20. Lawrence's performance in "Winter's Bone" was celebrated, but she was edged out by Natalie Portman, who took home the award for her role in "Black Swan."

At the 83rd annual Academy Awards, Lawrence stunned in a body-hugging red dress. As shown in the photo below, Lawrence already exhibited the quirky personality that she is now known for.

Lawrence is favorited to win Best Actress at this year's 85th annual Academy Awards for her portrayal of Tiffany in the Best Picture nominee "Silver Linings Playbook." Lawrence's "Silver Linings" co-star Bradley Cooper is also up for Best Actor.

Last month Lawrence took home the Golden Globe award for Best Actress.
