Gordon Ramsay Christmas Present: Chef Treats Self To $25,000 Rolex

Gordon Ramsay Treats Self To Lavish Christmas Present

Gordon Ramsay had a merry Christmas, thanks to a lavish gift he purchased for himself: a £15,000 Rolex.

At Thursday morning exchange rates, £15,000 was the equivalent of over $24,000. 2012 wasn't exactly the best of years for Ramsay, so why'd he buy himself such a pricy present?

According to The Sun, he bought the watch from The Vintage Watch Company in London, a store specializing in Rolexes from 1910-1970. Ramsay reportedly enjoys shopping at the store because his friend David Beckham's wife Victoria "loves the place too."

The watch he bought is a rare Submariner model, which was first designed in the 50s for diving. It has since been featured in Ian Fleming's James Bond books and a number of the film adaptations.

This isn't Ramsay's first investment in a glamorous accessory. He is often photographed wearing a yellow-faced Breitling watch, and has been spotted comparing watches with Beckham.

What do you think about Ramsay's holiday purchase?
