Fly-Over Burglary Bust: This Happened Twice?

This Happened Twice?

The bumbling bank robber who forgets his wallet at the crime scene, the thief found cooking in the victim's home, naked police chases, even the Walmart meth lab -- there are a few stories you can count on seeing again and again in the world of strange crime.

But catching a suspected burglar in the act while flying a private airplane past your home? Seriously?

For the second time in three years, a burglary victim swooping by their home for a closer look has ended up calling 911 from the sky. It's supposed to be more fun to say "I can see my house from here!"

On Sunday, David Zehntner and his wife were on their way from Virginia to Florida when why not fly our airplane over our house? Of course, they're glad they did. The couple landed to learn that police had arrested the man who allegedly stole their red trailer.

And just a few years ago, it was Steven Lynn of Arkansas who spotted two alleged burglars busting in to his home.

Twice! What are the odds? Probably not good. Probably better than winning the Powerball. Maybe not better than giving birth to identical quadruplets. It goes to show, right when you thought you'd seen everything, something crazier happens -- and then it turns out that new thing happened once before.

David and Steven, we salute you and commend your induction into a less zesty, more exclusive "Mile-High Club."
