While the firing of Avery Johnson caught some in the Brooklyn Nets organization by surprise according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports, perhaps nobody was more shocked than the coach's son.

Avery Johnson Jr. took to Twitter shortly after the Nets fired his father and lashed out at the organization and the team.

About a week before the firing, one of the Nets' star players did actually imply that it was Johnson's fault that he was not making more shots. Deron Williams criticized Johnson's system to Howard Beck of The New York Times, explaining that he favored the system employed by Jerry Sloan in Utah.

“I’m a system player," Williams told Beck. "I love Coach Sloan’s system. I loved the offense there.”

Of couse, Sloan resigned during Williams' stint in Salt Lake City, a move widely believed to have been forced by the point guard. Has he pushed another coach out the door?

Johnson Jr. also echoed what many tweeted, noting that his father was the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month in October and November.

But after going 3-10 in December, the Nets decided to let him go.

Johnson went 60-116 in three seasons as the Nets' head coach.
