Justin Bieber & Manny Pacquiao: Singer Faces Ban From Philippines After Dissing Boxer (VIDEO)

Justin Bieber Faces Ban From The Philippines After Manny Pacquiao Diss

Justin Bieber may be on the receiving end of a knockout from the Philippines if he does not apologize for ridiculing the Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao.

Bieber was threatened with a ban from entering the Philippines after posting altered photos on his Instagram account making fun of Pacquiao's loss to Juan Manuel Marquez, the Telegraph reported. Pacquiao lost to Marquez during a wildly anticipated match on Dec. 8 in a stunning sixth round knockout that left him face down on the canvas.

Bieber shared two mock images of Pacquiao, who is both a boxer and a politician, after the loss.

One image shows Pacquiao face down in the ring with a cartoon Simba from "The Lion King" nudging the boxer as he did his dead father, Mufasa, in the Disney film. "Dad wake up," Bieber wrote. The other image features Pacquiao with Michael Jackson in his "Smooth Criminal" performance. "Pacquiao doing the lean with MJ.. Classic moment," joked Bieber.

Bieber's Pacquiao insult reached the Philippines Congress, of which Pacquiao is a member, who demanded an apology from the singer for his “distasteful comments … lest he be declared persona non grata," according to Yahoo! Sports U.K. “Mr. Bieber should have known that the Hon. Pacquiao has reached his stature as such as a result of sheer hard work, determination and firm belief in God, and despite such stature best exemplifies humility and grace even in defeat."

Bieber responded by challenging the Filipino lawmakers' fandom, saying that "if they were Beliebers I know they wouldn't leave my side over [a] boxing opinion I have," per NJ.com.

The politicians claim Bieber not only insulted Pacquiao, but also the entire nation, according to the Telegraph. Pacquiao released a statement saying that he will pray for the 18-year-old pop star.

This is not the only beef Bieber has had recently.

The California Hamster Association accused Bieber of animal cruelty when he gave his pet hamster away to a screaming fan outside a concert earlier this month.
