WASHINGTON -- Two Capitol Hill legends were honored Tuesday night by We Act Radio (1480-AM), the Anacostia-based commercial progressive radio station. Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), the openly gay congressman retiring after 16 terms, and Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), the second-longest serving member of the House who was reelected to a new term, were recognized for their years of service in Congress.

The holiday party served as fundraiser for the station and forum on the role of independent radio in politics and policy.

Among the party goers were Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.); We Act Radio host David Shuster, formerly of MSNBC, We Act Radio host Mark Levine, a former legislative counsel to Frank and the House Judiciary Committee; Bill Press of the "Bill Press Show," and We Act Radio hosts Kymone Freeman and Ron Pinchback.
