SAG Nomination Snubs And Surprises For The 2013 Awards Amongst TV Stars

Who Got Snubbed?

The SAG nominations were announced on Wednesday and though many of the TV nominees were to be expected -- the stars of "Homeland" and "30 Rock" dominated yet another crop of awards show contenders -- there were certainly some snubs in the bunch.

Julie Bowen, who won an Emmy for her performance on "Modern Family" in 2012, was surprisingly not up for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.

Michael C. Hall, who's been nominated for a SAG every year since "Dexter's" inception and won in 2010, was noticeably absent from the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series category. It's especially surprising given the praise "Dexter" -- which was also left out of the drama ensemble category -- has received in its penultimate season. "After almost three seasons away from the Showtime drama, I'm back on board, and if you'd given up too, you might want to think about heading back to Miami," HuffPost TV's Maureen Ryan wrote.

The stars of "Girls" and "Game of Thrones" were also missing from the SAG nominations list in the individual and ensemble categories.

There were, however, some pleasant surprises too, like Amy Poehler's nomination for her performance as Leslie Knope on "Parks & Recreation" in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series category.
