Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead on Thursday after paramedics found him in a coma at his Bel-Air mansion. Hundreds of fans gathered at UCLA after news broke of Jackson's hospitalization. Since Jackson's death, an outpouring of messages and memories have consumed social media sites such as facebok and twitter.

YMI students and staff were also impacted by the news. Here are YMI's memories and thoughts about the king of pop, the man in the mirror, and a great music legend. Was he fundamentally a sad man? A man who made great soul music? Or something else? What's indisputable is that Jackson's music touched the lives of many people, including ours.
