Chicken 'N Waffles Syrup Started As A Joke, But Is Now Real

On April Fools' Day 2012, Torani -- the maker of all sorts of sugary syrups with flavors such as raspberry and bananas foster -- announced that it was coming out with a new flavor: Chicken 'n Waffles. News outlets immediately began reporting on it and we can't really blame them -- the news actually hit the presses a few days before April Fools'.

But it was later revealed that Torani had been joking, and no such flavor was planned. People were upset -- the website Foodbeast claimed that Torani ruined April Fools', explaining that the company " takes a piss on the unspoken April Fools’ Day etiquette of confining the antics to the 24-hour period of April 1st." Torani then tried to save some face though, and said that if people voiced enough support, then the company would try to make the flavor real.

Torani seems to have lived up to its pledge, and Chicken 'n Waffles syrup is now available.

“The flavor was so wildly unexpected, we couldn’t help laughing,” said Julie Garlikov, Torani’s VP of Marketing, in a press release. The syrup boasts a flavor combination of buttermilk waffle, fried chicken and maple syrup.

If we find out this is fake again though, we are SO done with you, Torani. Well, even though we're not so sure we want to try this anyway.

If you want to buy the syrup, it's available online only.
