Zoey Ripple, Shot After Drunkenly Wandering Into Home, Pleads Guilty To Criminal Trespass In Colorado

Shot During Drunk Night, Guilty Of Trespassing

Zoey Ripple paid the price when she took a bullet for her alleged drunk stumble into a private home. Now, adding insult to injury, she's being slapped with a trespassing charge.

The 21-year-old woman from Boulder, Colo. pleaded guilty on Wednesday to criminal trespassing, admitting to entering a multimillion-dollar residence in May, ABC News reports. After the couple inside demanded that she leave, homeowner Timothy Justice took aim and shot her in the hip.

She fell to the floor and the homeowners called 911.

Ripple maintains that she was likely given a date-rape drug before the incident, which caused her staggeringly high blood alcohol level.

911 Call (Story continues below):

"Her statements to the police officer were pretty clear and yet she has no recollection of it at all and that kind of fits in with a date-rape drug," her lawyer, Colette Cribari, said during her hearing Wednesday.

The homeowners were not charged in the shooting.

Ripple, whose friends describe her as sweet and harmless, told the court that she plans to move to Peru after her probation ends next year. She wants to start a women's leadership program there, ABC News reported.

The bullet -- which is still lodged in her back, according to the Daily Camera -- serves as a constant reminder of that night.
