Reggie Bush is expecting.. and hoping.
The Dolphins' 27-year-old running back confirmed rumors that his girlfriend, Lilit Avagyan, is pregnant during an appearance on the "Paul and Young Ron Show" on Tuesday morning. After talking about how excited the couple was, Bush revealed that they didn't yet know the sex of the child.
"I'm hoping for a boy, because if it's a girl I'm going straight to the gun shop to buy some guns," Bush said during his radio appearance.
As TMZ sagely notes, "Reggie was presumably joking that he would need guns to protect his daughter." If that is the case then Bush is likely thinking ahead to the time in his daughter's life when she would begin dating and become vulnerable to having her heart broken by an unscrupulous suitor.
Perhaps not coincidentally, one of Bush's former flames, Kim Kardashian, is reportedly heartbroken over the news of this pregnancy.
"She feels it is a slap in the face that Reggie would consider having a baby with this woman when he wouldn't with her," an unnamed "source close to Kim" told RadarOnline.
Avagyan, a dancer, has been dubbed a "Kim Kardashian Look-Alike" by no less an authority than In Touch, who reported the pregnancy the day before Bush confirmed it.
“She is extremely excited to become a mom, even though it wasn’t planned,” a source described as "a friend of Reggie’s" told In Touch. And Reggie feels the same way. “He’s excited and can’t wait to announce it!"

According to The Phinsider, Bush appears weekly on this radio show that can be heard on stations throughout South Florida.

MIAMI (AP) — Reggie Bush is going to become a first-time father.
Bush, the Miami Dolphins' running back, said he and his girlfriend, Lilit Avagyan, are excited about the news.
"We can't wait," he said Tuesday during a weekly radio appearance in South Florida. "It's an opportunity to bring in a new life and raise a child. I think that's the most special gift to a man and a woman. I look forward to it and to building a family."
They don't know yet whether the baby is a boy or girl.
