"Duh nah, duh nah, duhnah....duhnah nah nah nah!"

Following the release of shark thriller "Jaws," a generation of movie-goers were hesitant, at the very least, to set foot in the ocean (let alone go skinny dipping in it.) Yet, people can't seem to get enough shark attacks on the big screen, and we've created a video mashup of some of the craziest and most memorable shark attack movie scenes to date, just in time for Shark Week!

Although sharks in many of these films are depicted as evil predators, many of them are in fact preyed upon by humans.

According to the International Shark Attack File, there were 12 deaths from unprovoked shark attacks around the world last year. Yet, as File director George Burgess points out in a statement, "We're killing 30 [million] to 70 million sharks per year in fisheries -- who's killing who?"

Advocacy group Oceana says sharks are threatened by finning, bycatch and fishing pressure. They write: "Of the 307 shark species assessed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), 50 are listed as vulnerable, endangered or critically endangered, but only the white, whale and basking sharks are protected internationally under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES). Sharks now represent the greatest percentage of threatened marine species on the IUCN Red List of threatened species."
