Where To Celebrate Gay Pride This Weekend

This weekend, celebrate the very best of Gay Pride month with beach bashes, rallies, and party extravaganzas. All events lead up to the main event on Sunday, the Pride March, which will begin at 36th Street & 5th Avenue and make its way to the Village. New Yorkers have plenty to celebrate this year, particularly in light of President Obama's announcement supporting gay marriage in May. Happy Pride Month!

Proud To Party: A Fetish Beach Party
Where: Penthouse at Hotel on Rivington,

Lords South Beach, the first gay gay boutique hotel brand, takes over the penthouse at Hotel on Rivington for a night dance party with DJ Vito Fun. The brand's signature bartenders, dancers, and staff will also be present. Complimentary vodka cocktails from 9PM-10PM.

8th Annual Trans Day of Action
Where: Washington Square Park
When: June 22, 3PM-7PM
Price: Free
Trans Day of Action calls upon activists in the transgender community to continue working to provide equal employment, rights, and justice.

MATINEE New York Pride 2012
Where: Governor's Beach Club, 10 South Street
When: June 23, 4PM-June 24, 12AM
Price: $79 limited advance tickets
MATINEE hosts an outdoor pride extravaganza featuring music from Natasha Bedingfield, a four-story tented dance floor, an open air beach, dancing, and much more.

Mermaid Parade 2012
Where: Coney Island, Starts at West 21st and the Surf Avenue
When: June 23, 2PM
Price: Free
Head to Coney Island for the 30th Mermaid Parade where a spectacle of costume donning parade-goers will march alongside floats and antique cars.

NYC Dyke March
Where: Starts at 42nd Street and 5th Avenue, Bryant Park
When: June 23, 5PM
Price: Free
Thousands of lesbians around the world will gather for the annual Dyke March, and New York City's march is one of the event's largest gatherings. Step off starts in Bryant Park and 5PM sharp.

Rapture on the River
Where: Pier 57, West 15th Street and West Side Highway
When: June 23, 4PM-10:30PM
Price: Advanced tickets, $25
Following the Dyke March, celebrate at Pier 57 with DJs Trini, Missy B, and Whitney Day with nearly 3,000 women who identify as lesbian, transgender, and bisexual.

NYC Gay Pride March
Where: Starts at 36th Street & 5th Ave, ends at Christopher & Greenwich Streets
When: June 24, 11AM
Price: Free
Started in 1970, the city's gay march is one of the largest and unites the gay community, AIDS activists, and proud supporters to celebrate the gay community and civil rights achievements. 2012's march will be led by official grand marshals Cyndi Lauper,Chris Salgardo, Phyllis Siegel and Connie Kopelov.
