Design Ideas From A Couple's Dream-Made-Reality Rustic Winery

They Left Corporate Life To Open Up A Winery

After more than 20 years in the software industry, Mark Nelson ventured in a new direction when he set off to open Ovid Winery in Northern-California with his partner Dana Johnson. They settled on 300 beautiful acres on St. Helena's Pritchard Hill for their new business, which features eco-friendly practices and organic farming techniques. The couple commissioned Backen, Gillam & Kroeger Architects and designer Nicole Hollis to help them design structures with a classic barn-appeal, but with a modern twist. Our friends at California Home + Design have brought us the full story and enchanting images.
