African designers are definitely on the rise . Names like Duro Olowu and Mimi Plange are starting to work their way into the sartorial spotlight.

Even Vogue Italia's editor-in-chief, Franca Sozzani, is taking notice. The editrix has traveled to the continent several times over the past few years mentoring up-and-coming design stars.

With that said, we've got our eye on Nigerian-born fashion designer Amaka Osakwe, the designer behind Maki Oh, which has earned itself a star-studded set of fans.

Solange Knowles recently donned one of Oh's high slit skirts at the Splendid store opening party in New York City and we absolutely loved Leelee Sobieski in a stunning printed ensemble from the collection.

For fall, Osakwe continues with her panache for prints and adds some sass with strategically placed slits in many of the garments that give way to flashes of flesh.

Maki Oh attributes its seductive yet sophisticated designs to a combination of "emotion, intuition, sex and fashion."

Oooo lala! With a formula like that, it's no wonder we're so in love with the collection.

Here's a look at Maki Oh's fall 2012 collection.
