'Hemingway & Gellhorn': Trailer Starring Nicole Kidman, Clive Owen, Plus Sex Scene Talk (VIDEO)

WATCH: Nicole Kidman Stars In HBO's New 'Hemingway' Movie

Get ready to see Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen as the power couple of the 1930s on HBO.

The trailer for "Hemingway & Gellhorn" (airing Mon., May 28 on HBO) has been released, starring Kidman as journalist Martha Gellhorn and Owen as author Ernest Hemingway. The film tells the story of the couple who, after meeting in a bar in Florida, fall in love and head to Spain to report on the Spanish Civil War.

"Have you ever tried to get in a war zone?" Hemingway asks Gellhorn in the action-packed trailer. "I'm resourceful," she responds confidently.

Hemingway and Gellhorn had a famously tumultuous relationship -- their marriage only lasted five years, and it inspired Hemingway's novel "For Whom The Bell Tolls" -- and Owen and Kidman recently talked to W magazine about playing the historical figures ... and about their sex scenes.

"The sexual attraction between them was powerful," Kidman told W. "I kept asking Phil Kaufman, the director, 'Is all this sex important for the story?' I wanted to make sure he wasn't just getting off. But these were two people who could make love when a building was falling down around them. They had passion."

Owen agreed. "Sex scenes are only hard if there’s no narrative conveyed through the sex scene. In the Hemingway film, the sex scenes have a story going through them," he told W. "It’s part of who these people are and what they are."

"Hemingway & Gellhorn" airs on Monday, May 28 on HBO.
