Illegal Butt Injections: Ex-Cop Martin Freeman Pleads Guilty To Assisting Illicit Injector Kimberly Smedley

Ex-Cop Pleads Guilty To Helping This Illegal Butt Injector

It turns out the alleged D.C. butt-injector had a little help -- from a former cop.

Martin Freeman, a former District police officer, pleaded guilty in a Baltimore federal court on Monday to providing security for the illegal silicone swindler, Kimberly Smedley, the Washington Examiner reported.

Freeman, 48, is charged with conspiracy to introduce a misbranded device into interstate commerce, court records show.

Between 2009 and 2011, the former police officer earned approximately $5,000 for providing security at locations where Smedley performed her illegal operations, according to a plea agreement obtained by the Examiner.

Characterized by the Washington City Paper as "at one point an exemplary D.C. cop," Freeman was fired from the police force in 2010 amid a dispute surrounding a police officer's ability to moonlight as private security.

Last month, Smedley pleaded guilty to providing illegal silicone buttocks injections to women desiring larger posteriors. The Georgia native performed the procedure in hotel rooms from D.C. to New York, according to reports.

Smedley, 45, allegedly used commercial-grade liquid silicone rather than the implants or fat transfer techniques used by licensed surgeons. The likelihood of causing a blood clot using the illegal butt injection methods make the procedures highly dangerous.

Smedley faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine when she is sentenced on July 12.
