Channing Tatum & Matt Bomer In 'Magic Mike': Actors Who Played Strippers (PHOTOS)

We're not going to lie: We're ready for it to be June 29 already. That's the date on which we'll get to see Channing Tatum and Matt Bomer take it off on screen, playing male strippers in "Magic Mike."

Directed by Steven Soderbergh, film is very loosely based on Tatum's own past and is set in the world of male strippers. Tatum plays a mentor to the character based on himself, played by Alex Pettyfer, and "schools him in the fine arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money," according to the film's press release.

Tatum, 31, paid the bills by taking off his clothes for eight months when he was 19. He recently spoke to the U.K. magazine GQ Style about his dancing past, telling the magazine:

"I was young and dumb and stupid and wanted to make a little money. You can work ten hours a day for minimum wage -- that’s the opportunities for kids without a college education. Get some sh*t job that you're really going to have to bust your hump for. Or you can try something else a little crazy," he said.

Tatum may have taken it all off in real life, but we won't see quite that much in the film. "[The film will be rated a] hard R. It’s a very hard R. Not NC-17, we don’t want it to go that far. You’ve got a bunch of naked guys. It won’t be full frontal, it’s just thongs or whatever you want to call them and underwear," Tatum told Collider in January.
