Chicago's 30 Under 30 Named In Culinary-Centric Zagat Roundup (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Zagat Names Chicago's Culinary 30 Under 30

Zagat released their first-ever roundup of Chicago's "30 Under 30" Monday, naming the city's best, brightest and youngest in the food and drink business.

The list includes an impressive mix of big-named eateries, as well as some under-the-radar stars shining in their field.

"There's no question that Chicago is one of the most adventurous food cities in the U.S.," Zagat writes in the preface to their list. "Offering everything from dazzling, high-end culinary creations to irresistible cheap eats and killer cocktails, this is a city that that takes its eating and drinking seriously."

Unsurprisingly, mainstays the Violet Hour, The Purple Pig, Avec and Moto all have under-30s on the list (The Publican has two), but oft-overlooked surprises include Joe Doren (26), chef at Franks 'n' Dawgs, and Hot Chocolate's Assistant Pastry Chef Rachel Slivicki (25).

We rounded up some of the restaurants where you can catch the city's rising culinary stars. Did we miss a nod to one of your favorites? Tell us in the comments, and view Zagat's full list here.
