Never get between a Girl Scout and her cookies.
A Texas teen learned this lesson the hard way on Saturday, when, after allegedly stealing a cash box containing money from cookie sales, he was punched in the face by Girl Scout Iravia Cotton, 15.
The Houston Chronicle reports that Cotton and a fellow Girl Scout, Rachel Johnson, were selling cookies outside of a Walmart in Fort Bend County at about 2 p.m on Saturday. Cops say that a dark-colored Toyota Camry pulled up next to the Scouts, and the rider in the passenger seat got out to ask about their prices.
Then the dastardly dunce snatched the girls' cash box and hopped back in the car.
That's when Cotton "started hitting the boy in the passenger seat," as she told CNN affiliate KPRC. "So I think he learned his lesson a little bit."
Cotton, however, was not the only Scout to fight back. Johnson, also 15, grabbed onto the car's back bumper in an effort to prevent it from driving away. Cotton told KPRC that the car "dragged my friend Rachel across the street, driving off real fast."
The cash box contained about $200, according to Fox KDFW.
Johnson was lucky enough to suffer only minor bruises and cuts, according to local news station KTRK. The station reports that the girls now realize how dangerous chasing down the thieves could have been.
"It was an adrenaline thing," Cotton said. "Somebody take your money, you are going to go for it."
