Though 6-year-old Hernan Perez was pronounced brain dead and died after a sledding accident, his will to live has carried on.
The Perezes donated the young boy's organs, which helped four people in need, including Megan Corfee, now 9, CNN reports.
Living just 30 miles apart, the two families decided to meet in 2006 and now work together to inspire people to become organ donors.
"Megan Corfee came to gladden our hearts," Perez told CNN. "To me, she is an angel that was given life by another angel, and in our lives, she is a source of light."
