Al Sharpton, MSNBC Regulars Mocked By Saturday Night Live (VIDEO)

SNL Parodies Al Sharpton And MSNBC Regulars

Al Sharpton and his MSNBC show "PoliticsNation" were the subject of a Saturday Night Live parody this weekend. SNL's Kenan Thompson played Sharpton and mocked the anchor's hosting abilities.

Thompson opened the sketch by facing the wrong camera, a move which he repeated throughout the fake segment. "There are red lights everywhere!" Thompson said when he was told to look at the camera with the red light.

Thompson introduced Politico's Jim VandeHei, played by SNL's Taran Killam, as "Jim Van-de-he-ho from pol-i-tiko-period-com."

Thompson also mocked Sharpton's "Lean Forward" commercial. "Are Republicans Nazis trying to blueberry steal pie out of the box?" Thompson asked.

Thompson closed the fake segment with Sharpton's infamous teleprompter flub. During the initial days of his MSNBC show, Sharpton's teleprompter seemingly experienced some sort of glitch, causing the host to recite incoherent sentences as he attempted to keep up with the moving teleprompter.

Perhaps SNL will parody Sharpton's "Parent Trap" segment next. Last month, the MSNBC host used an Al Sharpton double to criticize Mitt Romney.
