'Dancing With The Stars' Champion's Next Gig

Dancing With The Stars winner J.R. Martinez will add CNN host to his resumé.

The network announced on Wednesday that Martinez will join the network for its upcoming "Heroes: An All-Star Tribute" in December.

The Iraq War veteran and former "All My Children" actor will co-host the pre-show for CNN's tribute live from the red carpet. The tribute will be hosted by Anderson Cooper and broadcasted live on December 11 at 7:00 p.m. EST.

Martinez will also participate in the network's "Heroes: Where Are They Now?" program. The network said that Thursday's program will "showcase impressive updates on the progress of several CNN Heroes that have been honored in the past and showcase this year’s top 10 CNN Heroes."

Martinez was crowned the winner of ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" on Tuesday. He beat former talkshow host Ricki Lake and reality star Rob Kardashian to win the title. In addition to his new CNN gig, Martinez was also named the Grand Marshal of Pasadena, California's Rose Parade on New Years Day.
