Astronauts Falling On The Moon (VIDEO)

WATCH: Hilarious Video Shows Clumsy Astronauts On The Moon

In all fairness, walking on the moon probably isn't a piece of cake. On the other hand, this video the Atlantic posted is hilarious.

We're pretty sure the ultra-low gravity and awkwardly bulky space suits have something to do with the epic clumsiness ... but come on. It's impossible not to chuckle while watching them stumble and fall over slowly while kicking up clouds of moon dust.

But it wasn't all clowning around for the Apollo astros. Evidence of the experiments they conducted during NASA's decades-long exploration can still be found on the moon's surface. In a September press conference, NASA Planetary Science Division Director Jim Green presented new images of the Apollo 12, 14, and 17 sites, captured by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO). These photos let the viewer "retrace the astronauts' steps," but they also reveal something that has scientists worried: the amount of trash left behind.

The astronauts left behind bulky equipment and rover vehicles, which can be clearly seen in the new overhead images. And it's not just the moon: Scientists also face the growing problem of space junk cluttering up Earth's orbit.

"We've lost control of the environment," retired NASA senior scientist Donald Kessler said, according to the AP.

Nevertheless, decades before space junk became a dire problem, NASA's astronauts had some serious issues navigating moon rocks. Think you could do a better job of maneuvering in a space suit than these guys? Early last month NASA announced they were on the hunt for new astronauts. Interested? You're in luck! They start accepting applications sometime this month, and expects the upcoming class to graduate sometime in 2013.
