Long Distance Relationship Pillow Keeps Couples Closer By Virtually Connecting Heartbeats As They Sleep (VIDEO)

New Pillow Keeps Long Distance Lovers Connected

Keeping the flame alive in a long distance relationship just got a little bit easier. Now a couple can stay in touch beyond email, texting, phone calls and Skype to virtually feel each other's presence miles away.

The new device called Pillow Talk gives a couple the chance to wirelessly connect to one another's heartbeats while they sleep, reports Jezebel.

The product's inventor, Scottish Designer Joanna Montgomery, describes how it works on her company's website:

Each person has a ring sensor they wear to bed at night, and a flat fabric panel which slots inside their pillowcase. The ring wirelessly communicates with the other person’s pillow; when one person goes to bed, their lover’s pillow begins to glow indicating their presence. Placing your head on the pillow allows you to hear the real-time heartbeat of your loved one.

But if you're a light sleeper who can't take the pulsing and glowing pillow, TIME says it may not be the best option as you could just end up feeling even more lonely trying to fall asleep.

Though Pillow Talk isn't yet available for purchase, Montgomery says on her website a prototype of the product is underway along with plans to be come to market soon.
