Steve Ruiz Alive And On The Run: Hells Angels Shooting Suspect Evading Police

Hells Angels Shooting Suspect Alive And On The Run

Steve Ruiz -- the 38-year-old suspect in the shooting of a Hells Angels member during a funeral for Hells Angels leader Jeffrey Pettigrew – is alive and on the run, according to CBS.

Police originally believed that Ruiz was killed by members of the motorcycle organization immediately following the funeral. According to SFGate, evidence at the crime scene was tampered with and Ruiz's motorcycle was found at the funeral. He never came to claim it. Investigators even obtained a search warrant to dig up Pettigrew's grave to search for Ruiz's body, but it was not inside.

But according to the Examiner, San Jose Police Sergeant Jason Dwyer said Friday that investigators have proof that Ruiz is alive and evading police. Dwyer said that Ruiz is believed to have bruises, two black eyes "and other facial injuries consistent with being in a fight."

According to SFGate, he is also believed to be traveling with his girlfriend, 42-year-old Christel Renee Trujillo, also known as Christel Renee Ferguson. They are possibly traveling in a gold or pewter Chevrolet Suburban.
