Author, 'When God Talks Back: Understanding the American Evangelical Relationship with God'

Tanya Marie (“T.M.”) Luhrmann is a psychological anthropologist and the Watkins University Professor in the department of Anthropology at Stanford University in Stanford, Calif. Before joining the Stanford faculty in 2007, she was the Max Palevsky Professor in the Department of Comparative Human Development at the University of Chicago. She received her education from Harvard and the University of Cambridge, and was elected as a fellow to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2003. In 2007 she was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship. She is the author of four books and many articles.

Her latest book is "When God Talks Back: Understanding the American Evangelical Relationship with God ."
