Robert Guillaume is best known for his role as Rafiki in “The Lion King,” and as television’s beloved Benson Dubois, earning two Emmy Awards and four NAACP Image Awards. He also starred in the ABC series “Sports Night” and guest starred in dozens of television programs and films. His gorgeous lyric tenor voice was featured in many TV specials and on stage, most notably in his Tony nominated performance in “Guys and Dolls” and also his powerful portrayal of “The Phantom of the Opera.”



Additionally, he is an activist, giving his time and resources to organizations including, TransAfrica, AmFar, Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, and Artists for a New South Africa. He has served as a spokesman for the American Heart Association, the National Stroke Association and the Association of Black Cardiologists.
