Writer of words and music, author, educator, bodyboarder, orchardist and piano/keyboard enthusiast.

Robbie Gennet is an multi-instrumentalist musician, singer/songwriter, educator and journalist from Los Angeles, CA. He's recorded and released his own music and toured worldwide as a sideman on keyboards vocals and guitar with acts as diverse as Lisa Marie Presley, Nick Lachey and Everclear. Robbie’s new music video “Come Down” won Best Music Video at the California International Shorts Fest in Fall 2016. An award-winning piano player, Robbie has released albums both solo and with his bands Rudy and Rabbithead. He can be seen playing boogie-woogie piano at the Valley Ragtime Stomp, a monthly gathering of syncopated piano enthusiasts in Canoga Park, CA. He's known to specialize in vintage keyboards, having played Rhodes, Minimoog, Wurlitzer and Clavinet extensively both onstage and in studio. Robbie has released his own music instruction book/DVD called The Key of One via Alfred Publishing and teaches both privately and at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. He has also written numerous music books and hosted a piano DVD for publisher Hal Leonard and has written for major music magazines including Guitar Player, Bass Player and Keyboard Magazine, at which he is a long time senior contributor and columnist. He's also been blogging for the Huffington Post on music and socioeconomics since 2006.
