Deborah Prinz

Rabbi

Prinz lectures about chocolate and religions around the world. Her book, "On the Chocolate Trail: A Delicious Adventure Connecting Jews, Religions, History, Travel, Rituals and Recipes to the Magic of Cacao" (2nd Edition, Jewish Lights, 2017), is used in adult study, classroom settings, book clubs and chocolate tastings. Three fellowships and travel in several countries informed this research. The book explores how faith traditions (Catholics, Quakers, Jews and others) share consumption, ritual and business interests in chocolate. Prinz is the Co-Curator for the Bernard Museum exhibit, NYC, of “Semi[te] Sweet: On Jews and Chocolate {The Exhibition}” scheduled to run through February 2018.
