Natalie Byfield

Author, journalist, professor of sociology at St. John's University in Queens

Dr. Natalie Byfield is the author of Savage Portrayals: Race, Media & the Central Park Jogger Story published by Temple University Press (2014). She is also an associate professor of sociology at St. John's University in Queens. She has also taught in the fields of media studies and journalism. She spent close to a decade working as a journalist in New York City. Her work has appeared in the New York Daily News, Time Magazine, The American Lawyer, New York Law Journal, and New York Woman.
