Michael Solis

Development worker and writer

Michael Solís is a development worker and writer. He currently lives in Freetown, Sierra Leone, where he works as Program Manager for Trócaire, an international development and humanitarian aid agency. Michael’s previous experiences in human rights, youth empowerment, and development brought him to live and work in South Korea, Chile, Honduras, Colombia, and Nicaragua. He has an LL.M in International Human Rights Law from the Irish Centre of Human Rights at NUI Galway and an M.Sc. in Gender and Development at the Central American University in Managua. He is a graduate of Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and is a former Luce Scholar ('08), Princeton in Latin America Fellow ('09), and Mitchell Scholar ('10). The author of several young adult novels and narrative non-fiction, Michael seeks to generate positive social change through the written word.
