Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen

Maura Keefe is the Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), managing the Senator’s Washington and New Hampshire offices. Senator Shaheen serves on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and sits on the Subcommittee on African Affairs.

For the last two decades, Keefe has held a variety of positions in both politics and government. In 1991, Keefe served as New Hampshire Press Secretary for Senator Bob Kerrey’s Presidential Campaign. In 1992, she was the Communications Director for the Maryland for Choice campaign, a successful pro-choice referendum campaign. From 1993-2000, Keefe served as Press Secretary and then Chief of Staff to U.S. Representative Rosa DeLauro (D-CT). In 1996, Keefe took a leave of absence to serve as a Senior Advisor to the Clinton-Gore re-election campaign.

From 2000 – 2008, Keefe worked as a political and communications consultant advising a wide array of non-profit, corporate and political clients, including: Planned Parenthood, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, Alliance for Justice, Coca-Cola, Citibank, the Democratic National Committee, Dean for America, and Kerry for President. In 2008, Keefe served as a senior advisor to Shaheen’s successful senate campaign, overseeing the communications, research and debate prep operations.
